It’s such a treat to be able to feature on our One True Blue Blog, my Dearest Dearest friend, Sheikh Abdel-Aziz Al-Thani..
Aziz, as we 🙂 close ones call him, was born in 1965 in Doha, Qatar.
He has a BA in Business Administration & International Business from George Washington University, USA. Most importantly, he is an amazing pilot (Well stand in line.. I’m still waiting for my promised ride 🙂 ) & master scuba diver (be my guest here.. not a big fan, personally)!!
He describes himself as a Self-taught photographer and his interest in photography began way back when he was 12.
In his own words; “I love Landscape photography for I consider it as the portal to my inner self. The height of mountains, the huge waves of the sea, the long course of rivers and the vast compass of the ocean. As I wandered the world of flying, I realized that the path was all in front of me. And I just needed to look at it with a fresh pair of eyes. It was like walking in this beautiful valley covered with dense fog. The fog does finally lift and the whole reveals, the essence of beauty, truth, serenity, peace, and unparalleled bliss.”
Above all, Street photography fascinates him. And although shy in nature (you wouldn’t guess that when you sit with him), he has managed to navigate and seize these memorable moments.
He is reminded of these lines:
“We shall not cease from exploration, And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we stand
And know the place for the first time”
The above one is entitled “Man in Istanbul”.. In addition, Aziz will be publishing his first book on his street photography.. Well done my friend, and after viewing these shots, we can’t wait to see the first print this coming Autumn..
Therefore, Thank u soo much for sharing with us some of your amazing photographs. These have not been published before and are exclusively for One True Blue. In conclusion, “Through My Lenses” and “Photography” categories, are your new canvas my dear, and you are welcomed again and again..
